About the role

We are seeking a bold, data-driven and strategically minded leader to shape the future of domestic student recruitment and future student engagement at Western Sydney University. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for domestic student recruitment and acquisition across all student cohorts. You will lead the development and delivery of an integrated, insight-led recruitment strategy, connecting targeted outreach, high-impact engagement and conversion activity to achieve enrolment targets in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving higher education market. Working closely with Marketing, Data & Insights, Faculties, and student-facing services, the role has a strong focus on student engagement, lead generation, and conversion. You will design and deliver large-scale engagement and outreach programs, including school and community engagement, events and pathway initiatives. You will use market intelligence and performance data to evaluate effectiveness, optimise activity and identify new opportunities for growth and differentiation. You will provide strong, visible leadership to a multidisciplinary team, building capability, fostering collaboration and driving a high-performance culture. You will also partner closely with Indigenous leadership to deliver culturally informed recruitment and conversion programs and oversee outreach and equity initiatives that build aspiration and widen participation by increasing awareness of higher education across Western Sydney. We are looking for a leader who brings fresh thinking, sound judgement and a clear focus on student outcomes - while building on Western's commitment to access, aspiration and equity. What Success Looks Like: Domestic recruitment strategies deliver sustained KPI-driven enrolment outcomes. Lead generation, engagement and conversion performance improve over time. New and innovative approaches deliver measurable improvements in pipeline and conversion. Indigenous and equity recruitment programs align with University strategy and priorities. Outreach-funded programs meet compliance, reporting and impact requirements. A high performing engaged and collaborative team culture is established and sustained. About You A relevant degree and or postgraduate qualification with extensive experience in recruitment, acquisition and engagement. Demonstrated success delivering strategic recruitment outcomes in higher education or comparable sectors. Proven ability to engage diverse communities, including Indigenous and multicultural audiences. Strong analytical capability with experience evaluating and optimizing performance across large-scale programs. A proactive, outcome-focused leader who brings sound judgement, energy and initiative. Senior leadership experience with the ability to lead, motivate, inspire and develop high-performing teams.
