About the role

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, is inviting applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. This is a teaching-focused position with a general expectation of teaching 4 sections per semester in the fall and spring semesters plus optional summer courses and moderate service. This position has no research expectations, although opportunities for research may exist. Non-tenure track faculty members at Embry-Riddle are eligible for future promotion based on job performance and length of service. Courses taught will be primarily undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Sciences. The department features undergraduate tracks in High-Performance Vehicles, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, Energy Systems, and Biomedical Systems. The ME department places a heavy emphasis on experiential education and sponsors a wide variety of student projects including Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Solar District Cup, EcoCAR, RobotX, IGVC, SUAS, RoboBoat, and RoboSub. The department also has a strong profile in applied research in areas such as robotics and autonomous systems, energy systems, advanced powertrains, and biomedical. The department has a stable faculty and offers a positive, collegial, and collaborative work environment.
