Responsibilities
- Leading the preparation, review and submission of Defence Contract Change Proposals, ensuring each submission is complete, commercially sound and supported by clear evidence.
- Managing, developing and maintaining pricing models, cost build-ups, assumptions and supporting financial analysis for proposed contract changes.
- Proactively coordinating, reviewing and challenging inputs from Operations, Asset Management, Finance, Procurement and other subject matter experts.
- Reviewing scope, quantities, service impacts and delivery requirements to ensure proposed changes are clearly defined and commercially supportable.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, exclusions and dependencies associated with CCPs and recommending appropriate mitigation or negotiation strategies.
- Preparing financial and commercial documents for release to Defence, including pricing schedules, supporting narratives, assumptions, clarifications and approval packs.
- Supporting commercial negotiations with Defence by preparing analysis, responses, revised pricing and evidence to substantiate our position.
- Monitoring the financial impact of approved changes, including revenue, margin, cost recovery, implementation timing and downstream commercial obligations.
- Driving continuous improvement of CCP processes, templates, controls and reporting to improve consistency, turnaround times and commercial outcomes.
- Supporting the development and implementation of reporting, process and procedural improvements focused on the risk & opportunities register, claim and change order strategy, and improving the order to cash process.
- About you
- You will have strong financial acumen and enjoy working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to strengthen processes, improve commercial visibility and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.
- Our ideal candidate may have:
- Relevant experience in commercial, contract management, finance, pricing or project controls.
- Demonstrated experience with pricing models, and using Excel spreadsheets to support commercial analysis, pricing, modelling and reporting.
- Prior experience within the Defence industry would be preferred.
- Ability to work closely with operational teams and provide objective reporting to management on the outcomes of investigations.
- Proactive, flexible and collaborative approach working across multiple stakeholder groups including subcontractors, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or a related field would be highly desirable however not essential if you have significant demonstrable experience.
