Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Asset Design technical authority for Downtown Underground (DTUG) / distribution network design, with primary accountability for complex urban underground distribution design solutions.

  • Support and document QA/QC reviews at concept, preliminary, and final design milestones, including:
  • Scope adherence

  • Coordination with adjacent work orders
  • Constructability and field readiness.
  • Lead or participate in Engineering & Construction (E&CR) walkdowns and incorporate field feedback into final designs.Contractor & Partner Coordination
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical direction and oversight of Contract Engineering Partners (CEPs) performing Asset Design work.
  • Resolve design questions, scope clarifications, and technical conflicts in coordination with construction and project teams.
  • Ensure CEP deliverables meet quality, schedule, and documentation requirements.Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Resource & Work Management, Construction Management, Planning, and Operations to ensure design alignment with execution plans.
  • Support constructability reviews and schedule alignment for grid‑hardening work.Documentation & Governance
  • Ensure design packages, calculations, and assumptions are clearly documented.
  • Support internal reporting, milestone tracking, and leadership updates related to SO/SPP design execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Asset Design workflows, standards, and job aids.Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
  • Direct experience with downtown underground (DTUG) / distribution network design.
  • Direct experience supporting SPP, SO, or similar grid‑hardening / resiliency programs.
  • Experience with UG conversions, lateral hardening strategies, and feeder hardening execution.
  • Familiarity with multi‑year capital program delivery and cross‑functional utility operations.Key Competencies
