Ready to modernize medicine with us? Job Description Summary: ModMed is hiring a driven Senior Software Engineer to join our positive, passionate, and high-performing Product Development team. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of talented individuals and influence the architecture and technical direction of a highly available, high-traffic, robust cloud based platform within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine! Job Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications using modern technologies and best practices. Lead the technical design and implementation of significant features and modules within our product suite, ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines and company standards. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards, performance, and security best practices. Identify and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Contribute to the improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies. Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems as needed. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending their adoption where appropriate. Job Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion focused on web-based applications or enterprise-level software. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript (Node.js, React, Angular). Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate code generation, automate boilerplate reduction, and streamline debugging workflows. Proven ability to leverage LLMs to refactor legacy codebases, improve code readability, and generate comprehensive documentation and unit tests. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems (e.g., Git). Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, make sound architectural decisions, and drive projects to completion. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with cross-functional stakeholders. Experience in the healthcare technology industry (EHR, practice management, etc.) is a plus.
