Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of strategies to address corporate communications issues impacting our business, and work collaboratively with various teams to inform, advocate and consult as required

  • Your Experience:
  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g. Public Relations, Communications, Journalism)
  • Three to five years of progressive experience, including at least four years in a similar role; energy industry or journalism experience preferred

Additional Information

As a Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering external communications strategies - including the creation of engaging and authentic social media content - that support Irving Oil's organizational priorities. Your goal will be to collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage reputation, strengthen relationships, develop and execute content plans, navigate issues and crisis communications and support community programming initiatives. Your success in this position will be attributed to your strong writing background, your passion for storytelling and communications and your willingness to be a collaborative team player with a keen sense of curiosity.
