If you would like to learn more about UES, please visit: https://utilities.tamu.edu/ What We Want The Senior Utilities Maintenance Technicians is highly skilled in the maintenance of industrial mechanical systems and executes work assignments safely and efficiently in such a manner as to restore or improve the reliability of the equipment being maintained. Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery as directed. What You Need To Know Starting Pay: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Shaft Alignment- Performs shaft alignments, maintains and replaces bearings, lubricants, packing and mechanical seals. This may require driving a university vehicle to satellite plants.
• Welding- Fits and welds steam piping, high pressure water piping and structural steel, brazes and solders connections. Cuts and shapes metal using gas or mechanical methods.
• Crew Leader- Provides direction to the Utilities Maintenance Team in the field during absence of the Master Utilities Maintenance Technician.
• Chemicals- Makes repairs to chemical storage, transfer and injection systems which include sulfuric acid, chlorine, biocides and caustic soda.
• Housekeeping- Performs general housekeeping to ensure that the work site is kept clean. Ensures that all tools, ladders and containers/materials are properly stored between work days.
• Rigging- Moves and lifts heavy loads using cranes, hoists, mobile cranes.
• Fuel Gas Delivery- Works closely with the Master and Senior Utilities Maintenan

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience:
• High School or GED.
• Required Licenses and Certifications:
• State of Texas Class "C" Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Subject to yearly Motor Vehicle Record/driver license checks.
• Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Category 1, Certified Vibration Analysis; ISA Certification - Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
• Basic understanding of root cause analysis methods. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management or Asset Management Systems.
