Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery as directed. What You Need To Know Starting Pay: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended.
Responsibilities
- Shaft Alignment- Performs shaft alignments, maintains and replaces bearings, lubricants, packing and mechanical seals. This may require driving a university vehicle to satellite plants.
- Welding- Fits and welds steam piping, high pressure water piping and structural steel, brazes and solders connections. Cuts and shapes metal using gas or mechanical methods.
- Crew Leader- Provides direction to the Utilities Maintenance Team in the field during absence of the Master Utilities Maintenance Technician.
- Chemicals- Makes repairs to chemical storage, transfer and injection systems which include sulfuric acid, chlorine, biocides and caustic soda.
- Housekeeping- Performs general housekeeping to ensure that the work site is kept clean. Ensures that all tools, ladders and containers/materials are properly stored between work days.
- Rigging- Moves and lifts heavy loads using cranes, hoists, mobile cranes.
- Fuel Gas Delivery- Works closely with the Master and Senior Utilities Maintenan
Requirements
- Required Education and Experience:
- High School or GED.
- Required Licenses and Certifications:
- State of Texas Class "C" Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Subject to yearly Motor Vehicle Record/driver license checks.
- Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Category 1, Certified Vibration Analysis; ISA Certification - Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis methods. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management or Asset Management Systems.
