Responsibilities

  • Help lead assembly from development phase through SOP on New Models.
  • Drive Problem Solving activities and innovation in assembly.
  • Review daily KPI's, lead root cause analysis on issues in assembly with support of area managers, Industrial Engineer, Process engineer, and Quality Engineer.
  • Support with change management initiatives in assembly, drive workforce engagement, and provide coaching and feedback to all employees.
  • Ensure compliance in all audit initiatives and all areas of the operations.
  • Manage resources to support project completion of lean projects.
  • Drive launch and mid-cycle action activities, cost improvements, and raising the bar on quality and product safety.
  • Monitor launch curve attainment for new programs and establish PDCA as needed.
  • Ability to work any shift and support overtime based on the business requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees and management within all areas of the Plant.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
  • Knowledge of various process systems, quality systems, throughput, standardization, and product/process launch.
  • Location & Travel Expectations :
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive assembly, Finish (End of Line), with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in automotive technology, Manufacturing, or related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Assembly, Wheel Alignment, Roll Booth, Water test, ASAS commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of pre-series builds, Finish (End of Line), and the automotive production process.
  • Hands on experience with assembly tools, jigs and fixtures in manufacturing setting.
  • Experience developing production systems and technology A strong working knowledge of Planning, Assembly Operations, and Logistics
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement systems, such as TPS, VPS, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
