Within GIBC's Financial Institutions and Government (FIG), the Government and Higher Education team manages relationships and originates opportunities across the NSW Government and Higher Education sectors. The team works closely with clients to deliver tailored capital, transaction banking and risk management solutions that support strategic priorities and long-term outcomes. Do work that matters As a Senior Associate, you'll play an important role supporting the management of key client relationships across the NSW Government and Higher Education portfolio. Working closely with senior bankers, you'll help identify opportunities, coordinate client engagement activities and contribute to the delivery of tailored banking solutions. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of products, clients and stakeholders while building deep sector expertise and developing your institutional banking career within a highly collaborative Coverage team. More specifically, you will: Support senior bankers in managing relationships across a portfolio of NSW Government and Higher Education clients Assist in identifying and originating opportunities across capital, transaction banking and risk management solutions Develop insights into the government sector, market trends and industry developments to support client engagement and business development activities Prepare high-quality client presentations, briefing materials, transaction analysis and strategic insights Support transaction execution including coordinating deal teams, product partners, credit risk, operations and other internal stakeholders Assist in managing client, credit and transaction data to ensure accuracy and quality across systems Work closely with product partners across IB&M to develop and implement client engagement strategies Assist in managing client risk and ensuring compliance with governance and probity requirements, including government tender processes Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support business development and client service outcomes Contribute to the broader team's objectives through collaboration, market intelligence and client-focused initiatives We're interested in hearing from people who have: Experience in Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Financial Services or a related client-facing environment Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility with clients and internal stakeholders An interest in government, public sector or institutional clients (prior sector experience is advantageous but not essential) Strong analytical, financial analysis and modelling, writing and presentation skills The ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong commercial acumen and a genuine interest in financial markets and banking solutions A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced bankers and product specialists What's in it for you?
