Supervisory Supply Management Specialist - Assistant Chief Supply Chain Officer

About the role

This position serves as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist-Assistant Chief Supply Chain Officer (ACSCO). They are the supply chain management specialist for a VA Health Care System (VA HCS) and are responsible for the development and integration of a cohesive supply chain operations, including planning and coordination with fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations. This position is at the Fargo VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist. Specialized experience includes, serving as a supply chain management leader, responsible for ensuring the logistical requirements of an organization are met; planning/coordinating and evaluating various operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain operations. Areas of knowledge and skill should include acquisition management, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory management and control, expendable and non-expendable equipment, and warehouse operations; experience assisting with budget formulation and forecasting of expenditures. At this level, candidates should possess experience in leading and/or managing a group with a variety of occupations. NOTE: One (1) full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will be assessed on the following Competencies for this position: Conflict Management Influencing/Negotiating Manages Resources Partnering Planning and Evaluating Supervisory Situational Judgment Test. Applicants will be required to complete a Supervisory Situational Judgment Test (SSJT) as part of the assessment process for this position. The SSJT evaluates judgment and decision-making skills that align with relevant competencies, organizational values, and best practices. Assessment results may be used as part of the evaluation, ranking and referral process. This is not a timed test, however, the assessment is expected to take approximately 45 minutes or less to complete. The assessment for this application does not include a cut score for a minimum level of required proficiency in these critical general competencies. However, you must answer each item in the assessment. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary, but requires visits to warehouse and storage areas, loading docks and other facilities. Work is normally performed in an office setting that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, and requires safe office practices.
