About the role

About the role We're looking for a Marketing Specialist to help drive customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth across our global markets. Based in Cape Town, you'll work closely with our London based Growth team, collaborating with Sales, Partnerships, Product, and other stakeholders to deliver marketing initiatives that have a measurable commercial impact. This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys testing new ideas, analysing data, and continuously improving performance. You'll have the opportunity to experiment across multiple channels, optimise campaigns, and help shape Houst's growth strategy. What you'll be doing Plan, execute, and optimise growth marketing campaigns across paid, organic, email, content, referral, affiliate, and social channels Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and revenue Monitor campaign performance, analyse results, and turn data into actionable insights Conduct A/B testing and optimise landing pages, messaging, and conversion funnels Work closely with Product, Sales, Partnerships, and Customer teams to support commercial objectives Research new marketing channels, tools, and growth opportunities, testing and scaling what works Support SEO initiatives, content performance, and website optimisation Build regular reports and dashboards to measure marketing performance and ROI Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging growth tactics What we offer Independent contractor role, this is not a full time employee position Work with a global team across multiple international markets Opportunity to make a direct commercial impact and shape growth initiatives Flexible, hybrid working environment What we're looking for Experience in a marketing or growth marketing role, ideally within a fast paced technology, marketplace, SaaS, or ecommerce business Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including paid media, SEO, content, email, social media, affiliate marketing, partnerships, and lifecycle marketing Experience using analytics and marketing tools such as GA4, Hotjar, Klaviyo, Google Search Console, or similar platforms Comfortable working with data and making decisions based on insights rather than assumptions Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Naturally curious, analytical, and willing to experiment with new ideas Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams Nice to have Experience working in a marketplace, proptech, travel, hospitality, or SaaS business Experience using CRM and marketing automation platforms Familiarity with AI tools that improve marketing productivity and campaign performance - Independent contractor role, this is not a full-time employee position - No employee benefits are included
