Position Title: Maternal Fetal Medicine MD/DO, Academic The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Boston University Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Academic Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist. This position has primarily clinical responsibilities, including coverage of the antepartum service, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, perinatal consultation, and optional management of the labor floor. All faculty members are expected to participate in resident and medical student education. *This position is co-listed with an open position for Director of Quality and Safety for the Department of OB/GYN at Boston Medical Center, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. We invite qualified MFM candidates to apply concurrently for the Director of Quality and Safety role, listed separately. MFM faculty are engaged in funded research in hypertension, health-related social needs, and substance use disorders, among other areas. Features: Opportunity to work in a high-acuity labor and delivery unit, with approximately 3,000 deliveries/year Extensive 24/7 backup system In-house Anesthesia and Level 3 NICU Onsite MFM, Complex Family Planning, GYN Oncology, REI, Urogynecology, MIGS, and Midwifery Care for a diverse patient population in a supportive and collegial environment Potential for involvement in obstetric quality improvement, safety initiatives, research, and/or hospital and university committees Boston Medical Center (BMC) offers top-tier medical expertise, a compassionate care environment, and state-of-the-art facilities (Level III NICU) to ensure a safe and supportive birthing experience and help families transition smoothly from hospital to home. For 25 years, BMC Labor and Delivery has been designated as a Baby‑Friendly hospital with lactation support, peer counselors, rooming-in, and donor milk services. BMC has a mission that focuses on public health, both domestic and global. We are a full-service tertiary care service consisting of 41 physicians, 24 Certified Nurse Midwives, 7 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Physician Assistants, and 4 Genetic Counselors. There are over 2,900 deliveries per year at BMC. Our OB-GYN ambulatory care clinic is a busy academic practice, with approximately 55,000 visits per year. 30% of our current faculty and 65% of our current residents identify as Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM). We have an OB/GYN residency program with five residents per year, and currently have the following high-risk specialty clinics: HIV, substance use disorder, diabetes, and a specialty clinic for refugees and asylum seekers.
