About the role
The Sports Rehab Physical Therapist will have the education, knowledge and skill to provide out-patient services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness and injury. Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children/adolescents with orthopedic injuries/diagnoses and sports medicine related issues. The position shall include patient and caregiver education and consultation to other professionals, clinics and agencies, both within Cook Children's Health Care System and within the community. The sports rehab physical therapist will also be expected to participate in school-based sports medicine physicals and/or injury prevention education and screening. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies. Requirements
- Master's Degree or equivalent experiences
- Experience and/or certification in pediatrics, sports medicine, or athletic training is preferred
- State license for physical therapy or eligible for licensure
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required
- Flexible Hours/shifts to accommodate before and after school hours
