For the expansion of our international DT Research team, argenx is looking for a DT Business Functional Lead - Research Purpose of the Function This role will act as the strategic interface and primary business partner for the end-to-end Research capability, from early Discovery and Innovation through Pre-Clinical and Translational Science. It is accountable for ensuring a unified technology strategy and that the digital roadmap and solutions effectively support the Research capability. This role will drive the innovation agenda and champion co-creation, translating a diverse range of scientific challenges into a single, cohesive portfolio of high-impact, data-driven technology solutions that empower our scientists. Roles & Responsibilities Define priorities and manage the direction for the strategic technology partnership with leadership across the entire Research organization (Discovery, Pre-Clinical, Translational Science). Develop, own, and champion a unified, multi-year digital technology roadmap for Research , applying an innovative mindset to accelerate the scientific lifecycle. Govern the consolidated portfolio of technology initiatives for all of Research, from shaping and prioritizing new ideas through to ensuring value realization. Provide outcome-driven leadership , fostering an environment where individuals are empowered to take ownership and initiative. Act as a senior technology advisor, translating complex and diverse scientific needs from across the research pipeline into a clear, integrated technology execution plan. Ensure all technology solutions are built with high quality and adhere to the appropriate industry standards for data integrity, security, and scientific validation (e.g., GLP, GCP). Actively foster relationships and open communication between a wide array of scientific stakeholders, DT teams, and external partners to achieve shared goals. Champion a growth mindset within the team and with partners, encouraging continuous learning from both successes and failures to drive continuous improvement. Manage complex escalations and interdependencies across the research domain, demonstrating resilience and agility to keep high-impact initiatives moving forward. Skills and Competencies Broad knowledge of the end-to-end scientific processes in a biopharmaceutical R&D lifecycle, including early Discovery (target identification, lead identification and selection), Pre-Clinical Development (CMC, toxicology), and Translational Science (biomarkers, early clinical data) is a must.Broad understanding of digital technologies, platforms, and data management practices that enable and accelerate pharmaceutical research. Skilled in developing and executing cohesive, multi-year technology roadmaps that drive innovation across a diverse scientific landscape. Ability to act as a connector, translating complex scientific strategies from multiple domains into a single, actionable, and outcomes-driven technology portfolio. Expert knowledge of scientific data management principles, research informatics platforms, and GxP data integrity requirements (GLP, GCP) in a regulated scientific environment. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks. Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience.
