Clinical Nurse Coordinator - MASLD Liver Program

Responsibilities

• This position requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes in liver health. One of the primary responsibilities will be
• To provide comprehensive education to patients and their families on lifestyle modifications, dietary guidelines, medication adherence, and potential complications.
• Facilitate access to resources and support services for patients
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and intervention plans.
• Perform Fibroscan test
• Collaborate with staff hepatologists to optimize patient care pathways and outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data analysis
• Direct care responsibilities: performing venipuncture, IV insertion, albumin transfusions, paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, wound care, recovering patients post procedures and liaising with clinicians regarding patient care.
• Completion of a university, college, or other approved nursing program
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
• Current certificate of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Physical Health Assessment Course preferred
• Completion of the ECG interpretation course is an asset
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, or a related field.
• Certification in hepatology nursing or related specialty (preferred).
• Experience with phlebotomy, IV insertion, insertion of and access to vascular access lines, and administration of blood products
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to work as an integral member of a team

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Patient teaching skills

• B.Sc.N. preferred
