Responsibilities

  • Support day to day financial and grants management activities for federally funded programs.
  • Assist with budget tracking, expenditure review, and financial reconciliation activities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in grants management, financial management, or accounting within government or government consulting environments. Preference given to FEMA grants or infrastructure/utility grants.
  • 2+ years of experience with MS Office, including Intermediate Excel- Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Formulas, etc.
  • Must be willing and able to work a Hybrid schedule, several days a week working onsite on Long Island, NY and the remainer work-from-home/strong internet within the commute radius as scheduled.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience: (These may set candidates apart)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with Electric Utility and Construction projects, Capital projects.
  • Experience supporting FEMA-funded projects. (PA, HMGP, Grants Admin-Compliance (not IA).
  • Experience supporting federally funded grant management projects.
  • Federal contract experience and cost of service pricing experience.
  • Coursework or experience in governmental or fund accounting.
  • Foundational understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Experience reviewing invoices, cost documentation, or reimbursement requests.
  • Exposure to audit support, monitoring, or compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with various grant management and financial systems used in grant programs.
  • Experience consulting in fast-paced, compliance-driven environments.

  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills, with experience providing training on complex subjects to multiple audiences.
  • Microsoft Office Suite professional experience; Intermediate-level MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, pivot tables/charts, formulas, sorting/filtering, and working with large datasets); examples may be requested.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, maintaining well-structured notes, documentation, and project files, with strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

ICF's Disaster Management Division is seeking a Grants Administrator to support FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation projects for utility infrastructure projects. This full-time position must reside within a commuting two-hour radius of Melville, New York for a hybrid schedule (2 days or more on office location and remainder work-from-home). Non-management role. Relocation will not be supported. The position will support state and local government clients by assisting with financial compliance, grant reporting, cost documentation, and audit readiness. Candidates will work closely with senior staff and subject matter experts while building hands on experience across the federal grant lifecycle. Compensation: While the range below is broader for career growth, this position will offer a base annual salary of $75K to 85K. Offer based on candidate's % of job description match and location as determined by the hiring team. Full time benefits apply.
