How you'll make a difference AECOM's GIS Team in Sydney offers an exciting opportunity for a highly driven spatial systems professional to support a wide range of projects across AECOM sectors. We regularly support the Transport, Environment, Water, Energy and Building & Places teams across a range of infrastructure, sustainability and resilience, geoscience and environmental impact assessment, renewable energy and planning projects. As part of this role, you will support day-to-day GIS requirements including mapping, GIS analysis, web applications, data management, creation and maintenance of metadata, deploying data field collection tools, providing technical software user support and troubleshooting, and maintenance of AECOM platforms. Working for a global organization, this role will allow you to work with industry specialists from a range of backgrounds across different geographies. 2 to 5 years of professional experience in GIS, spatial science or a related field Interest or experience applying GIS in infrastructure, environmental approvals, ecology, earth science or environmental science Support the use and improvement of enterprise GIS platforms and spatial databases Assist with field data capture tools, including mobile data collection and data QA Provide day-to-day GIS support to project teams, including troubleshooting and advice Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high quality, fit for purpose outputs Ability to manage your own workload and deliver to agreed timeframes Comfortable working in a fast paced, multidisciplinary consulting environment Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Strong skills in spatial data management, spatial analysis, cartography, and high-level use of ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap Experience with data conversion, FME, and tools like AutoCAD or Civil 3D Exposure to ArcGIS Online, Survey123, web map publishing, Python scripting, and 3D visualisation tools like Leapfrog or EVS Relevant tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree in Spatial Science, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or similar) - advantageous. Please note, due to the nature of the projects Australian Citizenship is required, with previous or current defence clearance highly regarded.
