This ND National Guard position is for a SOCIAL WORKER, Position Description Number T5013000 and is part of the ND AMEDD, National Guard. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. In your resume you will need to address the general and specialized experience listed below. This information is needed to determine if you are qualified for the position. Basic Requirements: Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. (Must provide a copy of your transcripts to receive credit for your education.) Licensure. Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. (Must provide a copy of your license/certification with your application.) Clinical Experience. Must have 24 months of experience in a clinical social work assignments. In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must meet the one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 09 grade level or civilian sector equivalent. The specialized experience includes: 1) Working knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources; 2) Experience interviewing people to establish the nature and extend of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situation, providing assistance and services, and referring them to community resources and other organizations; 3) Experience assisting clients to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior.
