About the role

Fixed-term, 2 years Applications are invited for a two-year research support position the group of Dr Manu Hegde at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary research programme aimed at understanding protein maturation and quality control. Specifically, the candidate will work in mammalian cells to develop genetic screening platforms in order to investigate mechanisms that recognise and clear aberrant proteins. The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in biology, biochemistry, genetics or a related subject. A basic understanding of molecular and cell biology and experience of basic cell culture skills and techniques are essential. It is also essential to demonstrate an ability to plan and carry out experiments, collate and analyse data and have a good understanding of lab health and safety procedures. This is a full-time position. The applicant must be available to start on or around 13 th July 2026. The LMB has a collaborative working culture and state-of-the-art building on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We have on-site parking, cycle enclosures and excellent public transport links to the site.
