About the role

Day to day classroom management and professional practice in accordance with the Mission and policies of ISS International, Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of the curriculum in accordance with the guidelines stated in the ISS Curriculum Document.
  • Support of the ISS Strategic Plan.
  • Provide support for the ISS Marketing department initiatives.
  • Provide support for the ISS Admissions department initiatives.
  • Implementation of the ISS Discipline Policy.
  • Regular communication between parent/guardian and the school.
  • Relief teaching, student supervision and as required by the Academic Directors.
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings, In-Service Day programs, relevant training programs and in school events (Parents Evenings, Concert, Graduation, etc).
  • Ongoing professional training to remain up to date with educational developments.
  • Awareness of evacuation and safety procedures and its communication to students as directed by the ISS Safety Officer.
  • Any ad-hoc academic duties as requested by Academic Directors.
  • ECA/ASA Coordinator
  • To perform the duties outlined in the ECA Coordinator's job description
  • To ensure that ISS has a clear vision for the role of Extra-Curricular & After School Activities as part of a holistic educational experience.
  • To ensure that all students have access to enrichment activities that meet their learning needs
  • To be ISS's representative at regional Sport and Activities meetings
  • To organise K-12 events such as swimming gala and sports day
  • To provide curriculum leadership for PE.
  • To ensure vertical articulation of the Activities programme
  • To develop the school's House system as a vehicle for student enrichment.
  • To ensure, in collaboration with the Global Citizenship Coordinator, that Week Without Walls enhances the school's vision of active global citizenship
  • To budget for and order appropriate athletics and activities resources to enable effective learning.
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognised Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant subject area.
  • Valid teaching qualification or teaching licence recognised by the relevant education authority.
  • Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience in secondary education. Experience in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and/or an international school environment will be an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and standard office productivity software.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • A collaborative team player who is able to work effectively across departments and contribute positively to the school community.
