As part of the Oncology WGS Assay Development group, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and participate in the development of NGS-based clinical applications. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for preparing and testing samples, and analyzing data to support assay development and optimization. A strong background in molecular techniques (especially on NGS), strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment are highly desirable. Position Responsibilities: Design and execute experiments of varying complexity and across a broad array of techniques, Identify technical challenges and proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues Document detailed observations in internal tracking systems Conduct complex and innovative data analysis and interpretation independently Summarize and report conclusions, and propose recommendations for follow-up experiments and/or alternative strategies Communicate results and conclusions to aid in team decision-making in a fast-paced research environment Contribute to improving team performance by sharing knowledge, training peers, and enhancing data quality standards Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Position Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics or related field. 1 - 2 years' experience in industry development of molecular biology and/or biochemical applications, NGS assays or related field. Product development experience, including assay optimization, reagent development, integration and testing, transfer to production and documentation Hands-on experience with library preparation and sequencing for NGS, with experience on Novaseq 6000 and Novaseq X preferred. Knowledge of NGS secondary analysis techniques preferred Training or experience in the field of oncology including DNA and RNA variants preferred Must have a desire to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic development environment Ability to think and work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team environment Analytical, detail oriented, organized, efficient, problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience/Education Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience. #LI-ONSITE The estimated base salary range for the Scientist 2, Oncology WGS Assay Dev Dept role based in the United States of America is: $74,900 - $112,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
