Assistant Head Gardener

About the role

Christ Church is seeking to appoint an Assistant Head Gardener who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, experienced, reliable and adaptable. We are looking for someone who is keen to use their knowledge and experience to ensure the gardens and grounds are maintained and developed to a high standard. The Assistant Head Gardener role is a hands-on supervisory position with responsibility for deputising for the Head Gardener when required and will work as part of a small team of gardeners to carry out a wide range of maintenance duties including planting, lawn and meadow care, hedge cutting, plant propagation, pest control, site clearance, and safe machinery use. The salary will be in the range of University Scale Grade 5 (currently £32,108 - £37,388, with a discretionary range up to £40,514). The role is permanent, working 40 hours per week.
