Head of Trading Infrastructure (CEX Core Systems Lead) - Fully Remote

Our client is a rapidly growing global digital asset exchange established in 2024, with headquarters in Dubai and international operations. The platform has scaled quickly to millions of users and processes significant daily trading volume, positioning itself among leading global exchanges.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Development
• Lead the design and optimization of core trading systems, including:Order Matching EngineOrder Management System (OMS)Account & Clearing Systems
• Develop high-performance distributed systems with high concurrency and low latency
• Optimize system performance across memory usage, networking, and databases
• Technical Leadership
• Lead and manage a team of engineers
• Establish development best practices (e.g. Agile, CI/CD, code reviews)
• Define and execute technical roadmap
• Business & Product Collaboration
• Work closely with product and operations teams to deliver trading features
• Support development of trading products such as spot, futures, and options
• System Reliability & Security
• Design and implement scalable and resilient system architecture
• Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and operational stability
• Support implementation of security and risk controls

Requirements

• Education & Experience
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 8 years of backend development experience
• At least 3 years of system architecture experience
• Experience working on large-scale distributed systems
• Technical Skills
• Strong programming experience (e.g. Java; other languages such as Rust are a plus)
• Familiar with distributed systems and middleware (e.g. Kafka, Redis, etc.)
• Understanding of system performance optimization and scalability
• Preferred Experience
• Experience in financial systems, trading platforms, or high-performance systems
• Exposure to trading systems or exchange platforms is advantageous
