Responsibilities
- Essential Functions:
- Embrace servant-leadership and coach teams on Scrum and Kanban Agile methodologies
- Help teams create an environment that fosters transparency, learning, innovation, quality and speed
- Help teams assess the overall health of their Agile practices and culture to identify opportunities to improve and provide coaching to improve
- Help teams understand and implement effective metrics on things that impact value driven delivery
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization to empower and enable teams to execute
- Build, deliver and improve customized Agile training
- Work with non-development teams to help drive agile transformation in those teams
- Partners with other Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters across the organization
- Trains and coaches new Development teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Managers in Agile values, principles, practices and the Scrum framework and Kanban principles
- Responsible for the growth of new and existing Scrum Masters
- Mentors and guides multiple teams on a day-to-day basis
- Helps identify organizational impediments to successful Agile transformation and works with the leadership team to create effective strategies to overcome them
- Organizes workshops that help promote Agile maturity across the organization
- Communicates well with teams and leaders of the organization, good listening skills, asking questions and giving feedback
- Ensures Agile/Scrum/Kanban concepts, values and principles are adhered to, being a voice of reason and authority
- Enthusiastic and maintains a positive, high-energy attitude
- Continually grows his/her craft learning new tools and techniques
- Able to handle conflict resolution well, facilitating discussion and alternatives of different approaches
- Coaches teams and the organization to achieve self-organization team accountability
- Coaches teams and the organization on how to identify and burn down technical debt
- Coaches teams and the organization on how to bring disclosure and transparency to the business and grows business trust
- Required
- Bachelors degree required
- 5-10+ years prior experience in an Agile Coach role helping teams efficiently deliver software
- Adaptive coaching style and the ability to work hands-on with teams in an advisor role
- A proven track record with continuous value delivery in an Enterprise environment
- Demonstrate a strong knack for identifying waste and helping teams devise streamlined solutions
- Show us you are constantly learning and improving your skills and capabilities in Agile
- Possess a deep understanding of Agile with hands on experience in Scum as well as other Agile methodologies - such as Kanban, Lean or eXtreme Programming
- Experience developing solutions for and adoption of continuous delivery concepts and techniques
- A strong understanding of organizational dynamics in a large Enterprise environment
- Experience in code refactoring, simple design principles and continuous integration
- Experience in training, coaching and mentoring new Agile/Scrum teams
- Experience in creating Agile training / workshop material
- Experience working with large, small, remote and collocated Scrum teams
- In depth understanding of Agile values, principles and the Scrum framework. Desired
- Prior experience as a software developer strongly preferred
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment strongly desired; preferably in the financial services industry
