Job Summary Under limited supervision, performs machine operation and production duties following established procedures. Feeds products to the bottler machine and prepare filled bottles for packaging and shipping. Bottling Associates are responsible of the quality of filled bottles, by setting up the machine with correct lids, bottles, labels and product. Essential Functions Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and prepared filled bottles for packing and shipping. Replenishes packaging supplies such as bottles, lids, boxes, shrink-wrap or labels. Set up machine with correct lids, bottles, labels and product. Preparing filled bottles for packing and shipping. Replenishes packaging supplies such as boxes, shrink-wrap or labels. Set up machine with correct lids, bottles, labels and product. Operates machinery with ability to make minor adjustments or repairs. May start, stop or regulate speed of conveyor. Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications. Records information, such as batch code, time, and date packaged. Responsible for correct count, accurate label placement, batch codes and lids for each bottle. Must work from technical data to ensure quality production runs. May operate lift truck or use hand truck to move or convey product from production area to receiving platforms. May also keep records on number of items or cartons shipped from the warehouse. Additional Responsibilities Must contribute to department team incentive goals. Team incentive goals and rewards are based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or process is completed. Each team member is dependent upon the contribution level of his/her co-worker. As part of the production team each employee is required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the bottling department. Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Permit. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
