More about the role: The Account Manager will provide Public Relations and Communications advisory services for a diverse portfolio of client accounts, ensuring that client satisfaction is maintained at the highest level. In this role, you will apply strategic thinking to client programs, deploy the firm's resources to achieve client objectives, monitor client projects on a day-to-day basis, and work under limited supervision or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Account Manager will typically perform within the following broad categories:
- Client Advisory (35%)
- Developing and executing creative communication campaigns and project plans
- Interpreting client needs and solving issues
- Offering strategic PR and communications counsel to senior client contacts
- Creating and maintaining productive senior level relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Communicating clearly and honestly with clients
- Conducting account and project audits
- Measuring success of Burson projects and reviewing them with clients
- Project Implementation (35%)
- Reviewing, editing, writing materials in Ukrainian and English, such as news releases, pitches, backgrounders, fact sheets, whitepapers, Q&As, briefing notes, articles, columns etc.
- Engaging with media representatives and other stakeholders
- Liaising with suppliers, e.g. polling firms, technology suppliers, designers etc.
- Liaising with third-party spokespeople and influencers
- Developing and executing crisis and issue response materials
- Monitoring traditional and social media, preparing reports for clients
- Account Management (10%)
- Responsibility for day-to-day financial management of assigned accounts
- Preparing client invoice letters and managing accounts receivable issues with clients
- Managing client budgets
- Maintaining account profitability
- Coordinating new client contracts
- Accurately recording expenses and approving supplier invoices
- Contributing to forecasts used by senior management to develop business plans for the agency
- Business Development (10%)
- Networking, developing and following up with new business contacts
- Keeping track of events and trends and their impact on clients and the firm
- Contributing to new business strategy discussions and pitches
- Proposing new project ideas to existing clients (organic growth)
- Flagging and pursuing new business opportunities

- Experience that contributes to success:
- COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in communications or media studies
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in strategic communications, corporate and crisis communications, public affairs, or other related field (agency experience preferred)
- Specialized industry knowledge and network of contacts
- Proven ability to use media and stakeholder engagement to achieve client objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Ukrainian and English
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Being a persuasive and articulate communicator
- Flexibility in delivering high-quality work amid delays, changes in direction, or budget revisions
- Willingness and proactivity in learning and applying new tools in everyday work, including proprietary Burson AI tools
