Member of Technical Staff- Firmware Development

About the role

As a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) on the Everpure™ DirectFlash™ Module (DFM) team, you will build the high-performance firmware that powers our FlashArray and FlashBlade solutions. You'll move beyond the constraints of off-the-shelf SSDs to design custom media management algorithms and low-level hardware interfaces that define the industry's most efficient data path. Collaborating with NAND, Hardware, and System Software teams, your work will directly enable the next generation of QLC and hyperscale storage innovation within the Everpure™ Platform .

Responsibilities

• Architect Next-Gen SSD Firmware: Design and implement high-performance firmware for Everpure™ DirectFlash™ Modules , focusing on NAND media management, wear-leveling, and error-correction algorithms.
• Lead Hardware Enablement: Drive the bring-up and integration of the latest hardware components, including cutting-edge NAND technologies and SSD controllers, ensuring seamless hardware-software synergy.
• Develop Simulation Environments: Build and refine advanced firmware simulation and emulation environments to accelerate development cycles and improve pre-silicon validation.
• Master Failure Analysis: Engineer sophisticated debug tools and log-forensics processes in C/C++ and Python to identify and resolve complex, non-deterministic system-level issues.
• Automate for Scale: Design and maintain internal development automation, including continuous integration (CI) and automated unit testing, to ensure production-ready firmware quality for every release milestone.
• WHAT YOU BRING
• Firmware Engineering Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in SSD device firmware development, including a deep understanding of NAND flash characteristics and media management layers.
• Systems Programming Proficiency: Advanced coding skills in C and C++ for embedded environments, complemented by Python expertise for automation, tooling, and scripting.
• Hardware & SoC Fluency: Proven experience with hardware bring-up, micro-controllers, or SoC architecture, including the ability to navigate low-level hardware-software interfaces like NVMe and PCIe.
• Full-Lifecycle Ownership: A strong understanding of modern firmware release processes, from initial design and simulation to production-grade validation and failure analysis.
• Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
