THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY ASSISTANT (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1113000 and is part of the NC G2, National Guard (JFHQNC-DCS G2/ MD 1422-206). **** THIS POSITION IS DEVELOPMENTAL **** Military Grades: Enlisted (E3 to E5) Minimum Requirements: Clerical or administrative work which indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training performing clerical or administrative duties in an office environment. Must have experience performing office functions using computers and automation systems. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. GS-09: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in the performance of clerical or administrative duties demonstrating knowledge of personnel security program rules, procedures, operations and requirements. Experience demonstrating knowledge of military requirements and organizational structures. Experience and skill in utilizing computerized data systems to input, update, and retrieve data in processing and preparing security clearance requests and reports; and to prepare correspondence or documents. Experience communicating effectively in writing and orally in order to provide information and assistance on security requirements. Substitution of education for Specialized Experience: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
