About the role

This position is located in the U.S Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Capital Access (OCA), Administrative Services Center (ASC), Travel Operations Branch in Herndon, VA. The incumbent supervises staff and serves as the principal advisor in the areas of travel arrangement services, travel vouchers, travel credit cards and support desk operations. GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: Experience working in two or more areas, including travel arrangement, voucher examination, travel credit cards, and/or the support desk, and interpreting and applying applicable laws, regulations, and policies within those areas; and Identifying organizational, procedural and production issues and providing solid recommendations for improvements that supports a nation-wide travel program that supports disaster recovery requirements; and Providing customer service to internal and/or external customers by assessing needs, providing information or assistance, and resolving problems; and Experience in recommending, monitoring, and enforcing policies related to travel management in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and other federal requirements; and Experience in implementing controls to mitigate the risk of fraud, misuse, and abuse associated with federal travel requirements. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next lower grade level than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 06/05/2026.
