Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust EHS programs and systems, training initiatives, and policies to reduce incidents and ensure compliance with regulations and company requirements.
  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement improvement/action plans to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
  • Participate and/or lead PHA, RA, and JSA programs to determine safety controls in order to prevent incidents and work with cross functional stakeholders to ensure they are implemented.
  • Implement Process Safety elements as per project development stages for both Engineering and Maintenance capital projects.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements/trends, conduct impact analysis, and implement programs to ensure compliance with both regulatory and internal standards.
  • Actively identify and promote process improvements or new processes that strengthen the EHS function and the overall organization and minimizes/eliminates risks.
  • Communicate compliance status, key performance Indicators, trends, priority issues and business impact to key stakeholders.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross functional teams to represent EHS objectives related to the subject matter and meet the team's overall objectives and deliverables.
  • Bachelor's Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Safety or engineering professional certification is preferred but not required.
  • Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations.
  • Ability to establish measurable project goals and implementation plans.
  • Ability to develop practical, applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives. Technical expertise in EHS or Engineering functions as well as technical writing and business communications.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to successfully manage projects and programs.
