Amazon's Air, Water, Spill and Launch (AWSL) Team under the Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) group is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager for mobile source emissions, Air Quality & Water compliance. This role is responsible for developing and/or improving scalable compliance frameworks and enabling field solutions related to mobile source emission standards, stationary source air quality compliance, and water management, including wastewater, stormwater and drinking water. The breadth of compliance shall include all applicable federal, country, state, provincial, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of stationary air emission sources, stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water as well as mobile source emission regulations with a strong emphasis on state requirements such as Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) and idling restrictions; California's Clean Truck Check (CTC) Program, Truck and Bus Regulation (TBR), Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU), Off Road Large Spark Engine Fleets, and SCAQMD Warehouse Actions and Investments to Reduce Emissions (WAIRE) Program. The candidate will be able to evaluate emerging regulations related to mobile source emissions in collaboration with public policy and fleet segments to ensure compliance with primary and third party operations; and applicable air quality and water regulations for general warehousing and storage, printing, pharmacy and transportation businesses. This role will initially focus on mobile source emissions in the United States but will expand to build a scalable program that can be implemented in other Amazon regions. The successful candidate will identify gaps in program implementation, use data and metrics to propose program enhancements and modify standards and procedures to improve scalability. The program manager will be comfortable presenting issues and proposed solutions to all levels of leadership through written and verbal communication skills. This role will assist with the monitoring of air and water permit requirements and build programs to support management of change and continuous compliance from cradle to grave. In this role, the Senior Program Manager will use expertise to provide insights for audits and assessments of mobile source emissions, air quality, and water management along with suggested reporting practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. The program manager will obsess over customers (internal and external) and will work backward from the customers' needs to create world-class processes. The program manager is a trusted partner to our external partners and internal business operations and leverages those trusting relationships to create excellent outcomes. The program manager will also promote and implement best practices focusing on creating customer-facing solutions for better tracking, reporting, and management of mobile source emissions, air quality, and water management data.
