Pay Range: $97,947.20 - $127,982.40 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Assists the Rehabilitation Services Director in the overall management of departmental operations, supervision of staff, and program development and implementation. Provides independent physical therapy management of patient under the direction of the Rehabilitation Services Director and Manager. Oversees quality and safety for areas of responsibility within the Capital Health framework. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility. Performs patient care activities up to 50% of the time, or as determined by varying circumstances. Performs other duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:Master's degree in physical therapy or related field required. Graduation from accredited physical therapy school or education approved by NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Experience:Two years clinical experience in an acute care therapy environment. One year operational supervision experience or equivalent in a hospital inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Experience with policy development, implementing evidence-based practice. Other Credentials:AHA Heartsaver AED,Physical Therapist License 2 hours of Stroke related Continuing Education contact hours annually if working in acute care setting. Stroke education is only applicable to those working with patients in the stroke program. Knowledge and Skills:Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment. Special Training:Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Usual Work Day:8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? Yes If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Physical Therapists evaluate and treat patients in the hospital, outpatient clinic and in the home under the hospital at home program. Adheres to departmental regulatory standards and maintains departmental accreditations. These include, but are not limited to NJ State licensure rules and regulations for professional/paraprofessional therapy staff. Maintains constant readiness for DNV-GL/DHSS/CMS as measured by self-assessment against standards. Assists director and manager in developing annual budgets within CH guidelines and timeframe. Monitors budget for appropriate utilization of resources. Demonstrates proactive vigilance in identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction. Complies with the standards established for direct patient care by therapists. Engages staff in active ongoing participation in performance improvement and other quality enhancing activities. Evaluates performance and ensures competence of staff as evidenced by guidelines and timeframes. Improves performance through development of appropriate outcomes-based PI monitors, consistently measured, reassessed and reported via the appropriate CHS mechanism at minimally annually. Participates in internal and external projects, committees and activities. Plans, implements and evaluates services in area of responsibility. Prepares, reviews and exercises discretion and judgement when analyzing data regarding area(s) of responsibility within established guidelines, such as monthly Rehab Statistical Reports, per diem productivity rates.
