About the role If you recognise the importance of organisational resilience, love solving problems and collaborating with people and want to make a real impact across a vibrant university community, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape how the University of Plymouth prepares for and responds to disruption. As our Resilience Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of keeping the University running smoothly, no matter what challenges arise. Working within a small, friendly and supportive team in the Business Continuity function, you'll contribute to the development, maintenance and communication of the University's business continuity arrangements. You'll collaborate with academic schools, professional services, senior leaders and operational teams across our Plymouth campuses and regional sites in Devon and Cornwall. Your work will help ensure that essential services can continue, risks are understood and the University is ready to respond effectively to anything from a local technical fault to a major incident. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on building relationships and wants to help create a culture of preparedness and resilience. Using strong organisational and communication abilities to support continuity planning, recognising that in-depth EP&BC expertise is not essential, a proactive mindset and willingness to learn are key. Work collaboratively with plan owners to ensure continuity plans are complete, accurate and regularly reviewed. Analyse and strengthen plans by identifying interdependencies, risks and opportunities for integration across teams. Provide practical advice to colleagues at all levels, supporting confident and informed decision‑making. Coordinate incident response and recovery activities during disruptive events. Capture lessons learned and embed improvements into plans, processes and organisational practice. Design and deliver engaging training exercises including scenario tests, desktop simulations and resilience workshops.to equip teams with the knowledge and tools needed to manage disruption effectively. Promote continuity awareness through engagement, communication and culture‑building activities Produce high ‑ quality documentation including reports, guidance and continuity resources. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. Represent the organisation within internal and external resilience networks. For this role, you will need to be on site 3 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs. Experience of developing and delivering training to groups using engaging methods that deliver understanding and where necessary actions Strong organisational skills Strong IT skills, using a range of Microsoft office packages and an ability to investigate and consider uses of AI. The ability to research and understand new subjects including legislation, and sector good practice Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex operational environments. Experience of delivering training Closing date: Monday 6 July 2026 £35,608 to £38,784 pro rata per annum - Grade 6
