Hiring is conditional upon the approval of this program. This is for multiple vacancies. Duties: Reporting to the Program Liaison, full-time Professors are responsible for teaching courses within the Faculty of Science, Trades, Technology, and Design for Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Technician - Avionics Maintenance, and Aircraft Structural Repair Technician. Hired Full-time faculty should develop an effective learning environment for students. Specific Qualifications: 1. Holds a college diploma or certificate in an AME program in Canada OR Has equivalent RCAF aircraft maintenance education and training. Equivalent education and training is defined as obtaining Level-A signing authority as an AVN Tech on any RCAF aircraft fleet. This is to be confirmed via a Letter of attestation which must include at minimum: Issued within the last 2 years from bid closing date Dated Dates of military service MM/YY - MM/YY Date that resource obtained Level-A signing authority Aircraft types the resource was authorized to work on as a Level-A Technician Dates that the resource was employed as a Level-A Technician (this can include time as a technical instructor) for each aircraft type Reference who can attest to the resource achieving Level-A signing authority and performing maintenance on RCAF Aircraft as a Level-A Technician. Include name, phone number and email address. 2. Has a minimum of 5 years of practical hands-on experience as a licensed AME in Aircraft Maintenance or manufacturing in Civil Aviation in Canada OR Has a minimum of 5 years practical hands-on experience as a Level-A technician for any RCAF aircraft fleet(s). 3. Must have recent aircraft maintenance or aircraft maintenance training experience: Transport Canada approved AMEs - a minimum of 5 of the last 10 years of employment must include maintaining aircraft or aircraft related components in a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance and Repair Organization or employed as an AME instructor in a Transport Canada Approved Training Organization. Employment does not need to be continuous, and employment experience can be a combination of maintenance and training. RCAF or former RCAF Aircraft Technicians - a minimum of 5 of the last 10 years of employment must include maintaining aircraft or aircraft related components in a DND Approved Maintenance Organization or employed as an aircraft technician instructor in an RCAF Training Establishment (e.g., CFSATE or a 400 series RCAF Operational Training Unit). Employment does not need to be continuous, and employment experience can be a combination of maintenance and training. General Qualifications: Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success Excellent communicator with a strong commitment to student access\ Prior instructional experience is an asset Strong interpersonal skills Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required Experience in formal teaching positions (i.e. Clinical instructors, teaching assistants, classroom leadership, etc.) an asset Proven ability to work in a team environment Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets Salary: Determination of starting salaries is based on relevant teaching/occup
