Requirements

• Highway Maintenance Worker: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• Highway Maintenance Worker/ Senior: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license, and possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements is required within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred Qualifications: A valid Class A or B Commercial driver's license. Experience in the operation of heavy equipment. May require out of town, overnight travel. Regular and reliable attendance is also required.

Job Duties: Under immediate supervision, perform a variety of manual tasks to maintain and preserve highways, shoulders, roadside areas, and structures, as well as preventative maintenance and care of equipment and tools. Examples of work include mowing and trimming vegetation on highway right-of-way, trash and roadway debris cleanup, assist the crew with concrete and asphalt pavement repair, setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, flagging, guardrail repair work, cleaning out culverts and other drainage structures, cleaning and maintaining equipment, tools, and facilities as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
