DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Team oriented Peer support Fast-paced work environment SCHEDULE: Part-time, 16 hours/week 2nd shift, weekends typically 11:30am-7:30pm, rotating holidays may be required LOCATION : Baystate Medical Center Springfield, MA JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient Experience & Support Assist patients and families with menu selections that align with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) orders Provide guidance and recommend appropriate food choices and alternatives Communicate patient concerns or intake issues to nursing and Clinical Nutrition teams Meal Preparation & Delivery Accurately assemble and deliver meals, snacks, and supplements in compliance with diet orders and allergies Verify patient identity using dual identifiers during delivery Ensure trays are complete and assist patients with setup when needed Coordinate meal delivery with nursing staff for point-of-care patients Food Safety & Quality Follow safe food handling practices, including proper hygiene and temperature control Maintain clean workspaces ("clean in, clean out") Practice First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory methods Operations & Coordination Record meal intake, supplements, fluids, and calorie counts as required Track trays and report any issues promptly Stock and replenish tray line supplies and maintain inventory levels Process commissary orders to ensure consistent availability of food items
