Cortica is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Behavior Technician (SBT) to provide 1:1 behavior support to students with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences in school settings. You'll work closely with educators, caregivers, and Cortica's clinical team to help students succeed across their school day. Schedule & Availability This position follows a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, with required availability from 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM. While actual working hours vary based on student needs, you'll receive a minimum of 4 hours of paid work per day when you remain available and accept assignments. At times when you are not yet assigned to a designated client, you may follow an administrative schedule from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. During this window, you'll stay engaged with administrative tasks from home and be ready to step into a school session if one becomes available. School-Based Role This role follows the school's academic calendar and includes unpaid breaks during periods such as Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer. During the school year, you'll play a vital role in supporting student success within their educational environments. What will you do? Execute all responsibilities and skills associated with the Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification. Must be obtained within 30 days of hire for districts that require certification. Provide direct implementation of holistic, neurodiversity-affirming behavior analytic services to students in one-on-one and group settings within schools. Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs, aligning with the student's IEP and school goals. Work closely with school teams to integrate behavioral strategies into the daily classroom routine and support students' engagement and learning. Support student development in communication, social skills, self-regulation, and self-care (e.g., toileting, hygiene, dressing) as appropriate to the school context. Utilize a strengths-based treatment approach developed in collaboration with the educational team. Collect data consistently on student progress and behaviors during each session and complete timely documentation, including session notes and incident reports. Participate in classroom observations, team meetings, and school-based training sessions as assigned. Implement proactive behavior support strategies and follow school safety and crisis protocols, including de-escalation and mandated reporting procedures. Travel between assigned work sites, as needed, within the designated service area. Other duties as assigned. We'd love to hear from you if: You hold a high school diploma or equivalent. You can obtain and maintain Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within 30 days of employment, where required by the district. You can obtain assigned safety training certification within 30 days of employment You can maintain reliable transportation and must be able to travel between work locations. You have a first aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain. You have a tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
