Description of Work Murdoch Developmental Center is currently recruiting for an Administrative Associate II which is located in the Infirmary and provides direct assistance to the charge nurse and is responsible for assisting, coordinating, and ensuring clerical support to accommodate the needs of this area. The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical functions such as answering incoming telephone lines for the nurse's station, locating appropriate personnel and recording messages accurately; maintain forms in medical charts, flow sheets, diagnostic requisitions, area notification, etc.; notify service areas across campus regarding individual admissions, discharges, and changes; preparation of bedside notebooks for direct care staff; maintain inventory of medical records; document vital signs, weights, intake/output in medical record and for shift report; assist with completion of required forms for transfers, appointments, X-rays, etc.; call in and/or complete work orders for repairs; complete daily census information; utilize copier, fax machine, computer to generate forms and distribute as indicated; follow-up repair of health-related equipment (IV pumps, feeding pumps, vital sign monitors, etc.) to ensure functioning properly; complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly supply requisitions for needed medical, office and nourishment items as well as store items upon delivery; pickup and deliver communications and correspondence from the Medical Clinic, Pharmacy, X-ray, Nursing Office, etc. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Documented ability to present ideas in written form to meet the needs of the Infirmary and use correct grammar Working knowledge utilizing office equipment to meet the work needs Administrative experience in a healthcare setting. Ability to order supplies from Central Pharmacy and the Warehouse as established in written policies and procedures. Expertise in preparing, maintaining and revising word and excel documents using correct spelling, punctuation and specialized vocabulary.
