Metal Fabricator / Fitter

Responsibilities

• ⦿ Equipment Operation: Safely operate shop equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, magnetic drills, band saws, oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and grinders. Maintain equipment performance by reporting issues promptly.
• ⦿ Quality and Traceability: Maintain material traceability through accurate documentation (heat numbers, MTR tracking, work orders). Ensure fit-up quality to reduce rework and meet welding preparation standards.
• ⦿ Collaboration and Communication: Engage with technical personnel, welders, quality control, and supervision to resolve fabrication issues and escalate when necessary. Maintain effective communication between departments.
• ⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

Requirements

• ⦿ Red Seal certification in Metal Fabrication (Metal Fabricator/Fitter) or equivalent trade qualification/experience.
• ⦿ Minimum 5 years of related fabrication/manufacturing experience.
• ⦿ Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• ⦿ Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols with attention to detail.
• ⦿ Experience with pipe fitting and fabrication.
• ⦿ Welding tickets or certifications.
• ⦿ Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office for documentation and traceability.
• ⦿ Experience working in a team-oriented, supportive industrial environment with apprenticeship background.
