The compensation target for this role is: $76,500 - $90,000Job SummaryJob DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Own and process multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employeesManage payroll team (payroll, payroll taxes and payroll accounting)Ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions - earnings, deductions, garnishments, commissions, and equity compensationMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations; manage tax filings, year-end W-2s, and ACA reportingPartner with HR to ensure data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems; audit and reconcile records regularlyPartner with all other departments to ensure payroll objectives are met and that payroll needs are addressed.Manage team as they address payroll related questions and issuesManage relationships with payroll vendors and stay ahead of system updates or changesBuild and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controlsReview and help reconcile payroll accounting, journal entries, accruals, and auditsIdentify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes as the company scalesStay current on legislative changes affecting payroll and proactively surface any compliance risksRequired Skills, Education, Experience :5 + years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead roleDeep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance and tax regulations3+ years of recent experience within Workday and Workday P ayroll.Experience using Report Writer within Workday.Experience using a third - party administrator (TPA, such as OSV)Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasetsExperience using NetSuite is a plusCPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferredHigh integrity - you handle sensitive data with discretion every single dayA detail orientation that borders on obsessive (we mean that as a compliment)Excellent communication skillsA proactive mindset - you don't wait for problems to find youPhysical RequirementsPhysical activities may occasionally include:Remaining in stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.Physical activities may constantly include:Communicating with others to exchange information.Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.Environmental Conditions may occasionally include:Noisy open office environmentBENEFITS AND PERKSMedical, Dental, Vision401(k) MatchFlexible PTOEarn a MattressPurple SwagAmazing Purple ProductsWHY WORK AT PURPLE?Make your mark: We value innovative thinking.
