About the role
Online Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Online Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating an online learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of the provided single version master course. Courses are taught completely online in primarily 8-week (rarely 16-week) format. Candidates are required to be credentialed to teach one or more of the following courses: - SVAD 150: Cloud concepts overview, Cloud Monitoring and Management, Cloud Security, Overview of Cloud Platform Providers - SVAD 151: AWS Cloud Practitioner certification - SVAD 152: CompTIA Cloud+ certification - SVAD 153: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification - SVAD 170: Cloud Monitoring and issue resolution, Ticketing systems, Issue Tracking and Resolution, Command Line Interface (CLI) knowledge (Microsoft/Linux) - SVAD 220: AWS Solutions Architect Associate knowledge, understanding cloud-based services and how to optimize - SVAD 221: AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification - SVAD 265: Knowledge of Microsoft Azure ecosystem of Cloud Computing - SVAD 266: Microsoft Azure Administrator certification - Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. IvyOnline's minimum expectations for Online Adjunct Faculty are found in the Academic Support and Operations Manual, Policy 7.5.2. Online Adjunct Faculty are also encouraged to review and implement best practices from the online teaching best practices list. - Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. - Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. - Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College. - Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning. - Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations. - Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment. -Must be committed to an environment where team members feel valued, respected and supported. Cloud Technologies (Cloud -SVAD Coursework) Program Standard A qualified faculty member in Cloud Technologies meets the program standard through one of the following three routes: Possesses an earned master's degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology as appropriate to the program; or Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field Two years of in-field professional employment Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including date of award Documentation of research and publication in the field Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military; or Possesses an earned bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field Two years of in-field professional employment Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including date of award Documentation of research and publication in the field Documented relevant additional information technology coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military. SVAD 151 Course Standard A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 151 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or higher-level certification and meets all other AWS requirements.
