About the role

The Executive Secretary performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties that support the work of the organization and provides assistance to the Executive Leadership Team. He or she is responsible for carrying out and coordinating all clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities required to accomplish the objectives of the organization. To qualify for this position at the GS-8 level, you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the federal service that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is executive assistant or secretarial level administration; managing calendars, taking/preparing minutes, coordinating travel, drafting correspondence, tracking actions, etc.; experience with customer/patient relations; strong computer skills including the use of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience managing funds and utilizing a purchase card; experience in timekeeping systems and procedures. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
