Effective June 21, 2024, as a result of the LiUNA arbitration award, the pay band for this position no longer includes STEP 1. The starting salary will be commensurate with experience, beginning at STEP 2 or higher on the pay grid.POSITION SUMMARYPerforms a variety of environmental activities to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, families and staff. This role requires availability on weekends, holidays, and overnights.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESCleans assigned area by washing furnishings, and equipment with cleaning solutions, disinfects to prevent the spread of diseaseScrubs, waxes and polishes floorsUses dust cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, blinds, floor and furnitureEmpties trash baskets and recycling containersMakes beds with clean linen in prescribed mannerScour, disinfects and polishes work as assignedMaintains confidentiality of patients, families, employees and Hospital informationCompletes other related duties as requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDSWork may include lifting, pulling, carrying and pushing.
