WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E3/A1C- E5/SSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E3/A1C- E5/SSgt) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. Group III - Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E3/A1C- E5/SSgt) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience accomplishing maintenance on electronically controlled support equipment containing highly complex digital devices and integrated circuits. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 18 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WG-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WG grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience with the interpretation of numerous manufacturer drawings, specifications, operating instructions, and test procedures to troubleshoot, calibrate, align and repair a variety of highly complex pieces of powered support equipment. Experience performing inspections, preventative maintenance, servicing, repair and adjustment on complex rotary diesel engines. Experience performing intermediate-level maintenance on powered support equipment and non-powered AGE. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying and operating aerospace ground equipment.
