Responsibilities
- Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Design, calibrate, test, and sign-off Scout's parking features - from base park distance control to advanced parking features - you'll be our expert!
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams including electrical engineers, software developers, data scientists, and validation engineers to define system requirements and integrate parking features into Scout's EV platform to ensure class leading performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototyping to evaluate and refine ADAS algorithms and architectures, ensuring accuracy and safety of the parking features.
- Work with the user interface and user experience team to craft customer experiences with Scout's parking features.
- Participate in system-level testing, validation, and verification of ADAS features, including real-world testing and data analysis to validate system performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ADAS technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement.

- Location & Travel Expectations :
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC .
- This role requires 4 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in ADAS development, preferably within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of parking sensors and automated parking features, preferably experiences include validation and troubleshooting of parking sensor perception and assisted parking features.
- Experience with calibration, integration, or validation of features and software for parking applications.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and tools for development, simulation, and testing (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, JIRA, and Confluence).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify system issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and legislative regulations (e.g. ISO 26262, SAE J3016, FMVSS) and experience in conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present technical information, and influence decision-making processes.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in German is a plus.
