Responsibilities

  • Support senior members of the Corporate Research team in developing datasets, financial models, and written research deliverables.
  • Monitor news flow and market developments across the energy and natural resources sectors, identifying relevant events and implications for company coverage.

  • Demonstrated interest in researching companies within the energy and natural resources sectors.
  • Relevant experience in corporate research & analysis, financial modelling and valuation within the energy and natural resources sectors is desirable but not essential.
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in any discipline; backgrounds in Financial Modelling, Mineral Economics, Mining Engineering, Oil and Gas, Economics, Finance, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with finance, economics, or financial modelling is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with research tools, market research techniques, and relevant industry datasets is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong sense of ownership and attention to quality.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to operate both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.

The Corporate Research team provides research and data coverage to a range of clients, including integrated energy companies, national oil companies, mining firms, utilities, renewables companies, investment banks, and institutional investors. The role contributes to analysing company performance and market developments to support client decision-making. As part of this team, you will contribute to helping clients navigate the evolving energy landscape, supporting Wood Mackenzie's mission to enable the energy transition.
