Responsibilities

  • Establish with the engineering team leader the department goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
  • Stay abreast of developments in technology relevant to the processes being carried out on site.

  • Liaise with Division Engineering as required.
  • Adhering to all relevant policies relating to Quality & Safety.
  • Supervise external contractors.
  • Negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts.
  • Required to undertake specific investigations, and equipment monitoring, with the view to improve manufacturing performance e.g. reducing plant maximizing Plant output and yield.
  • Relevant Electrical, Mechanical trade exams or academic engineering qualification to Ordinary degree level at a minimum.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant industry at an equivalent position.
  • Detailed functional knowledge required of wide range of manufacturing equipment is required. Example: Glass Lined and Hastelloy Reactors, Thermal Oxidizer, Filter Dryers, Vacuum Pumps. Universal Milling Machine, Isolators, Purified water systems, Air Handling Units and Utilities.

To provide a Manufacturing Engineering service to the plant, in order to maximise the availability of Manufacturing Equipment. To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance. To ensure the performance of day to day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment. To liaise with Production to ensure equipment performance is maximized. To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/ demand maintenance. To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining trouble shooting, and installing/commissioning equipment. To facilitate the implementation of Equipment projects/ process improvements.
