What Makes This Role Great: In this position, you will experience all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial business requirements gathering to live system installation. Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor/Manager, you will function as the key technical developer on multiple concurrent projects, maintaining high utilization/revenue rates while keeping projects on schedule and within budget. You will collaborate closely with internal Business Analysts and client-side stakeholders, giving you a high-visibility platform to showcase both your deep database architecture skills and your consultative problem-solving abilities. Key Exciting Responsibilities Bespoke Solution Engineering: Discover client requirements, design scalable software solutions, and develop custom database projects tailored strictly to individual customer specifications. Database & Report Customization: Develop, deploy, and maintain custom Crystal Reports, SSRS reports, and interactive dashboards, alongside writing advanced T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and database triggers. Data Integration & Migrations: Formulate complex SQL modification queries to drive system integrations, automated data transformations, large-scale data migrations, and critical data corrections. Business Process Analysis: Analyze complex business data relationships and technical components to ensure all software customization aligns perfectly with the client's underlying operational requirements. Quality Assurance & Communication: Execute comprehensive functional tests to validate that all customized code meets defined scope requirements before installation, while proactively communicating project updates to stakeholders. Essential Skills & Experience Education & Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related technical field, combined with a minimum of two years of custom programming and database engineering experience. SQL Deep-Dive Mastery: Robust knowledge of SQL Server environments, including writing advanced queries, designing optimized stored procedures, managing constraints, and developing complex triggers. Business Intelligence Tooling: Practical familiarity with designing, structuring, and formatting enterprise-level reports using Crystal Reports and SSRS. Data Pipelines & Ecosystems: Structural familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and a broad comfort level navigating various relational database architectures. Accounting Foundational Literacy: Basic familiarity with foundational business accounting principles (e.g., general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchase orders). Bonus Points For: Industry Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of the construction industry and direct experience utilizing specialized construction accounting software or payroll platforms.
