As a Design Engineer, you will join the Military Design Engineering team, owning end-to-end component design for additively manufactured hardware. You will lead the component through requirements definition, design, validation/verification, certification, and entry into service, ensuring the delivered part remains aligned to design intent and all applicable certification requirements. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Capture system-level requirements and flow them down to component definitions Identify and define validation and verification needs to demonstrate compliance Develop component and module designs to meet cost, performance, and life objectives Apply additive design best practices, preferably for DMLM/DMLS processes Produce and release engineering deliverables in line with policies and procedures, including drawings, presentations, and analysis/technical reports Maintain strong configuration discipline and clear technical communication Contribute to and present in design reviews and program milestones Communicate design trades, risks, and verification status to stakeholders Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, NDT, Program, and internal/external suppliers Proactively support producibility, resolve issues, and drive improvements via concurrent engineering and cost-out/product improvement activities Qualification/Requirements Technical diploma Knowledge/experience designing additive components, preferably using DMLM/DMLS Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Unigraphics NX) Solid fundamentals in mechanical design (statics, strength of materials, dynamics) Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven teamwork and inclusiveness Clear-thinking, diligent, and results-oriented working style Fluent English and Italian (written and spoken) Strong written and oral communication skills Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired Characteristics Knowledge of aero-engine components/modules, technical requirements, and design solutions Experience in mechanical design of complex products and New Product Introduction (NPI) Fundamentals of fluid mechanics and heat transfer Experience in structural stress analysis Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment; international experience preferred High curiosity and passion for mechanical design
