About the role
You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) of NAVAL STATION ROTA Spain. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Respond to customer's needs for information and assistance to ensure optimal IT system availability, interoperability, and functionality. Interface with systems engineers to ensure proper system integration into the enterprise security architecture. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify system and program capacities to support the operational staff. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advise system administrators and developers on addressing and resolving deficiencies. Participate in on-site surveys to determine status of security services provided by the Cybersecurity/IA architecture, including physical access controls. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. 1) Interpret cybersecurity policies, guidelines, standards, and regulations to determine their impact on local policies, procedures, and operations. 2) Develop local policies, implementation plans, guidelines, and procedures to meet current or future cybersecurity requirements. 3) Manage identity and access management controls and processes and the Cybersecurity Workforce to ensure authorized users have access appropriate networks and systems. 4) Conduct technical inspections and assessments and monitor system authorizations to ensure compliance with applicable policies and provide recommendations to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and comply with cybersecurity requirements. 5) Perform risk management framework (RMF) steps and support the resiliency of control programs and systems under the assigned purview.
